Celebrate Direct Deposit and Direct Payment Month

May 2007 has been designated as National Direct Deposit and Direct Payment Month – a time to let everyone know about the benefits of these services and to sign up new users. With a series of activities to promote Direct Deposit and Direct Payment, this Month is an opportunity for businesses, financial institutions, government agencies and payment associations to raise awareness among consumers and media about the advantages that electronic payments provide to individuals and the U.S. economy.

Why A Nationally Coordinated Effort?

Research shows that people who receive a message from several sources instead of one are more likely to be persuaded. So consumers will be more likely to use Direct Deposit and Direct Payment – if they hear them endorsed on the radio, see them mentioned favorably in articles, find statement stuffers in with a pay advice, financial statement, consumer bill or benefit payment check. With your help, we can significantly increase Direct Deposit and Direct Payment use nationally.

Conduct an Educational/Marketing Campaign

The way to convince more people to use Direct Deposit and Direct Payment is to conduct an educational/marketing campaign. If all companies, financial institutions and other organizations with an interest in Direct Deposit and Direct Payment spread the word about these services, the results would be tremendous.

We stand a better chance of accomplishing our goals if we all work together to spotlight Direct Deposit and Direct Payment in May. By conducting an intense Direct Deposit and Direct Payment Month campaign of your own, you can boost the percentage of Direct Deposit and/or Direct Payment users, while helping the national effort at the same time.
